Why It Pays To Advertise!
Kind of like, what’s the point of having a business if no one knows about it. Or, you can have the prettiest website in the world, only it doesn’t really matter if no one sees it!
When I first started out, I used to sell stuff on e-bay to save for my first website. After getting enough money together and finding the right person, I finally got my first website up and running. I was so happy that I reached this monumental moment in my business to actually get a website. Then a short time after, I met this woman for lunch, someone who I had just met on line, and after going through the pleasantries and introductions, she said, you need a new website!
I couldn’t believe it, I told her I had just had it done, and now you say I need a new one? Her reply was yes, you do! She explained to me that as an Image Consultant, my website needed to reflect my business, and that the current website was not doing me or my business justice. I have to admit, I was a bit taken back. But after thinking about it that night, I realized she was right. And so, I had a new website made.
That’s how it is in social media, you have to keep up with the times, and unfortunately, many businesses and entrepreneurs fail at this. When I’m working with a client consulting with them on their social media, I advise them to be on their social media every day to keep current. Even if it is only 15 minutes a day. I know that sounds like a lot, but if you want to get your name out there, that’s what is necessary.
Whether you have a brick and mortar shop, or an on-line business, you want to get in front of as many people as you can on a daily basis. Bonus, the more you are on social media, the more you drive people to your website, don’t ask me how, I just know it does!
Marketing is really just flirting. What you are doing is telling the world what you/your business is all about. It’s pretty simple.
Only a lot of people over-think the process. They get too wordy in their posts (hint, no one wants to read all those words) and/or use bad pictures.
So it’s no secret that pictures are the number one thing in a post, regardless of what social media sight you are using. It’s the best way to get your message across to your audience, and to get people coming back for more!
I’ve said this before, I get so many compliments from people on the pictures I use in all my posts. Is it time consuming looking for all those pictures? Without a doubt! Is it worth it? Absolutely!
It’s not surprising that Social Media Consulting is my number one service these days. Although I still have my Personal Shopping and Image Consulting clients, it seems every business owner wants to improve their social media, Instagram being #1! And can you blame them? Happy posting <3
