Unbridled By Zimmermann
Nicky and Simone Zimmermann Fall/Winter 2018-2019 show, presented during New York fashion week, started as a tale.
During an interview the designers said that they took inspirations from a fantasy girl who was living in the Victorian era and who feels herself constricted by the strict social rules and she finds peace and freedom in solo horse ridings.
Old wild West touch is revisited and really vibrant in the whole collection and the equestrian style, matched with a subtle romanticism and femininity, is the real main character.
The Australian designers catwalk was one of the most waiting of the NYFW as one of the most promising labels of the moment. And it was much more above the expectations.
The frills, ruffles, crochet and tulle, that are a sort of sign of recognition of the brand, are still present not in the usual boho style but in a new adventurous experiments. The coats and the shearling jackets are flattering and fluttering like being moved by the wind. The leather strong leather trousers are balanced with the sweet floral print dresses. The extra shoulders and the puffy sleeves are something continuous in every collection but, for the Fall Winter, acquire a more sensual and contemporary allure.
The knotted calf skin belts, the cowgirl boots, the saddle bags and the saddle-inspired corsets are the real must to have of the collection and a true Little House on the Prairie reminder.
As Zimmermann said ” The overriding theme of the collection is one of escape and quiet independence” and we cannot agree more. This is one of our favorite labels ever and we can honestly say that we can see ourselves with the hair in the breeze, a brave behavior while conquering the high peaks of our deepest dream in a Zimmermann total look.
