Gold and Glitter – My Mini Makeup Haul
The festive season has officially started with the commencement of December! Christmas for me means spending time with friends and family, eating and drinking lots of great food and of course glitter and sparkly makeup! It’s the time of year when we all like to wear reds, rich browns and deep jewel colours, with a splash of glitter where possible!
In keeping with that makeup theme, I wanted to share my mini makeup haul! There are only 3 items in this haul but all of them are perfect for this time of year and will suit everyone’s tastes and skin tones!
What’s in my mini haul?
From top left to the bottom:
1. Makeup Revolution’s Matte Lip Kit in Noble
2. The I Heart Makeup Golden Bar Eyeshadow Palette
3. Glitter Eyes’ Pressed Glitters in Nudes
All of these items are amazing! Check out my review of each below:
The Matte Lip Kit in Noble
These lip kits are brilliant! I have a couple of them now but this one is by far my favourite. The lip liner and liquid lipstick are a perfect match and the colour is warm and rich. The lip liner is very soft, so it doesn’t pull the delicate skin around your lips and it blends into the lipstick seamlessly. The liquid lipstick glides onto the lips and is fully opaque once dry. It can be worn as is or if you like a little shine or sparkle you could use a lip gloss or lip topper! What I particularly like is that it does not dry the lips out like some matte liquid lipsticks and it lasts for hours without being refreshed. This is the perfect daytime red-brown colour and will look good on virtually all skin tones.
The Golden Bar Palette
How gorgeous is this palette? All the shades are metallic, and shimmers rather than mattes and they are super soft and creamy! The colours range from golds to rich browns with some red, pink and green thrown in! There are also 2 highlighting colours for under the eyebrows and the high points of the face. The pigmentation of every shade is excellent, and they blend beautifully with minimal fallout. The looks you can create are endless and whilst there are no matte eyeshadows, they are not too shimmery or foiled to look excessive and ‘shiny’! It is a definite must for Autumn and Winter makeup!
Glitter Eyes Nudes
This palette is one of the most pretty glitter palettes I have ever seen or used! It is handmade in the UK and is exceptionally good quality and very easy to use. There are 6 pressed glitters and 6 intensely pigmented metallic eyeshadows. The glitters do not need glue to adhere to the eyes and can simply be pressed on with a finger or a firm flat headed brush. Very little is needed to produce a dazzling result and once applied they don’t move! The metallic eyeshadows are just as impressive – they are reasonably soft to the touch and smooth onto the eye lids with hardly any fallout and full opaque coverage. They can also be applied with your finger or a firm eyeshadow brush and in both cases the colour pay off is excellent. All the colours in the palette will suit everyone and the palette is so user friendly that even a beginner in makeup could create some lovely looks! If you have never tried Glitter Eyes you really must – I check their collections regularly and they are so popular that many things are often sold out!
Should you buy these products?
It’s a resounding yes! All of these products are worth the money and are perfect for this time of year but can equally be used at any time. They are all well-made and excellent quality, as well as being suitable for practically every skin tone. I have used every one of these items many times and I am always happy with the results, so much so that I would buy all of them again when needed! If you are on the fence about any of these brands or their products, don’t be – they are all worth trying and I doubt you’ll be disappointed!
