Find Your Tribe, Love Them Hard

 In Americanoizing

Best piece of business advice I have ever received!

So what does it really mean?  And who is your tribe?  (Hint, it is different for everybody)

Whether you are a business owner or trying to find your “tribe” on social media, it means the people who love your products and/or services and they keep coming back for more!  If you are an entrepreneur, same thing!  WHO absolutely LOVES your product or service?  Who writes about you on Facebook?  Who shares your posts?  Who always leaves comments on your posts?  Who sings your glory to people in person?  Those people are YOUR tribe!

“If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don’t hoard it.  Don’t dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke!” Brendan Francis

The BIG question, how do you find them?

Answer:  That’s the tricky part!

You have to see who’s buying your products and/or service.  Who is “liking” your social media.  Who is following you on social media (and btw, everyone starts at zero, remember that!)?  Who sends you messages and e-mails?  Who always comments on your posts?  Who tweets about you?  Who are the people who you talk to in “real” life about your business, and always want to hear more?  Who comes to you for advice?  Who gives you authentic compliments?

WHAT MAKES PEOPLE COME BACK TO YOU?  Think about that?

I believe it is all about your authenticity!  Share what you know, share what you’re about, share what you love, share what’s in your heart! Don’t bullshit people, they will smell it a mile away!

This is a picture of me today, spending a day on the water with great friends.  See that smile?  Authentic 😉  I was having a fabulous day with my amazing friends that I’ve had since high school (side note:  best friends in the world, since high school, nine of us, wait…ninefrogs…coincidence?)

My point here…my look is bit different.  I have spiky red hair, I dress a bit different than other women my age…and I believe the biggest thing…I think different than most.  And THAT is reflected in everything I do.  All my posts on Instagram, FaceBook, LinkedIn, all my blogs, all my writing for magazines.  Everything I do comes from my belief system.  And guess what?  My “tribe” loves all of it, that’s why they are “my tribe”.

And how do you take care of your tribe.  Keep giving them what they want!  Think of it as networking, only on a much larger scale.

It’s taken me a while to find my tribe(s), and I still work at it daily.  I find on different social media sites, I have different tribes (how cool is that)?  I listen to what they like or dislike, and I give them what they want.

You do the work you love, and the right people will find you, and if you give them what they want, they will come back for more.  As long as you are genuine and unique and put out your best work, your people will find you, they always do!

And lastly, I leave you with this:

“Extraordinary people visualize not what is possible or probable, but rather, what is impossible.  And by visualizing the impossible, they begin to see it as possible!” Cherie Carter-Scott
