Chemical Exfoliants

 In Beauty & Grooming

With all the skincare tips out there, it’s hard to figure out what tips you should listen to and what tips you should pass on. But one tried-and-true skincare must is exfoliation. There’s physical exfoliation, which we’re all used to (hello grainy scrubs), then there’s chemical exfoliation, which we all need to learn about!

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Peel Pads $17

These are probably number one in the book. These pads are so effective and highly coveted in the beauty world. All you have to do is apply step 1, wait two minutes, then apply step 2 to neutralize the peel and you’re good to go. Glowing skin awaits.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads $30

With lactic and glycolic acids as the main active ingredients, these pads are brightening and exfoliating while being gentle enough for everyday use.

Peter Thomas Roth 20% Glycolic Solutions Jumbo Peel Swab $48

This option is a leave-on exfoliating solution that you apply for the reduction of lines, wrinkles, pores and uneven skin tone. Simply apply after cleansing at night, and let dry before following with your normal skincare routine.

Sunday Riley Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment $158

This product may cost a pretty penny, but it is beyond worth it for its effects on the skin. This lactic acid treatment is great at exfoliating to reduce fine lines, dark spots, dullness and uneven texture.

The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution $5.30

As the least expensive product on this list, this product is still highly effective. Salicylic acid is a great exfoliant for acne-prone skin and blemishes.

Next time you reach for your exfoliant, think about swapping out your grainy scrub for an acid-based chemical exfoliant to reveal brighter, more youthful skin.
